Southern France is located in North Zealand. At least that is the impression one gets when driving up Strandvejen to the small town of Hellebæk north of Copenhagen, on Oresund. It is precisely the kind of place that makes a florid description of nature sound hollow. A minimalist summary which hopefully gives the imagination scope would be: Beach, sky and blue, blue sea.
This is where Saint Tropez’ headquarters are located in refurbished clothing factory buildings which are more than a century old. This is no coincidence, for people are united by working in a place where they can hear the gulls cry and the sea roar, while the word “I” is hardly ever used. a team is at work. A human octopus made of salespeople, designers, makers and administrators, which makes it easy to catch trends quickly, respond to the retail market and within a short time turn them into collections matching the customers’ needs – and their wardrobe for the season. The aim is to deliver: The right product. At the right price. In the right colour. At the right time.
The team is therefore kept busy. Saint Tropez is one of the few design companies which exclusively produces express collections. This means that the product is transferred from the designer’s sketchbook to the shop rails in just three months.
